Dear runners,

The 12th Tel Aviv-Yafo Marathon is on the way!

It is our tradition that in the last week of February the city will don its running clothes and celebrate the "Tel Aviv Samsung Marathon" – the largest sports event in Israel.

Tens of thousands of participants and supporters from all around Israel and from abroad will fill the streets and main sites of the city, including: Rothschild Boulevard, Sarona, Rabin Square, Ben Gurion Boulevard, Dizengoff Street, Tel Aviv Port, and of course, the wonderful beach promenade. The Marathon appeals to all runners, on all levels, from Israel and around the world, who will try to break their record, including runners participating in the full and half marathons, as well as beginning runners competing in the popular 10km and 5km runs.

Like other big marathons worldwide, we at the Municipality perceive it as an opportunity to promote social issues, and to contribute to the community.

This year again, we will be holding the "Pass it On" project, where we invite runners to donate their sports clothes, sweats, and running pants, and bring them to the distribution stations or leave them at the starting point of the marathon. We have taken upon ourselves to wash, fold, and transfer them to nonprofit organizations for those in need.

So, all that remains is to wish you the best of success and to ask you to collect your kit from one of our four distribution centers, and to arrive at the starting point!
